ROME, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Nicole Kidman's work on the recent film "Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus," has led the Australian actress to more introspective thoughts. The 39-year-old Oscar-winner said in Rome the film about the famed photographer made her recognize certain parallels in their lives, People magazine reported. "Reading Arbus' biography by Patricia Bosworth (on which 'Fur' is based), I found many things in common with myself," said Kidman, who was in Italy promoting the film. "I have a passion for photography. I collect black and white photos by Man Ray and Lee Miller, also her wish to explore the world -- to not give up on hopes and dreams and to live life in a brave way." Kidman said she found similar attributes to Arbus in relation to the photographer's struggles in the 1960s to maintain a family and a thriving career. "Despite the fact that we live in a different era, women are still torn between having a family and a career," Kidman told People. "During the time I was divorced, I was able to explore different roads. Now that I am happily married again, there are limits." Source: United Press International
