(November XX, 2007- Los Angeles, CA) – Lakeshore Records will release the original motion picture soundtrack for MARGOT AT THE WEDDING on November 13, 2007. The soundtrack features songs by bands including Blondie, X, Dinosaur Jr., Alice Cooper, and Gilbert O’Sullivan.
Director Noah Baumbach’s follow-up to his Academy Award®-nominated THE SQUID AND THE WHALE is a daringly funny and bracingly honest exploration of the tender, absurd and sometimes excruciating relationship between siblings – and the fallout for those in their wake: children, husbands and lovers.
The film stars Academy Award®-winner Nicole Kidman as Margot Zeller, a savagely bright, razor-tongues writer who creates chaos wherever she goes. She and her son Claude (newcomer Zane Pais) set off on a surprise journey to the wedding of her estranged, free-spirited sister Pauline (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and her unemployed artist-fiancé Malcolm (Jack Black).
Music Supervisor George Drakoulias and Noah Baumbach put together a collection of songs that mimic the havoc created by Margot and her relationship with, well, everyone when she returns to her childhood home. The complete track listing:
